Can I just say that it's awesome that I can be away from my home computer, and still restore the backup of my iPad 2 over the air with iCloud. It's like I was never without my iPad after I sold it!

Seriously, sometimes it's easy to take technology for granted, but things like this make me wonder how I ever got along without it. Everything is coming back ... wallpaper, apps, layout, even my iMessage history. It's like an old friend came back from the spa looking refreshed!

Yeah, iCloud is a totally amazing feature, i must say. I love the way it syncs safari bookmarks and photo stream between iPad and iPhone especially when i have such as powerful software as iPhoto. It just works.

I know the feeling. It's great being able to restore your phone on the fly too.

Well, I'm up to 5 1/2 hours on mine, but I guess being able to do it without a computer is cool.

Thing is my computer is right here. I could have done this in under an hour... :(

It only took a few minutes to download the essentials, the purchased software is still downloading but about half done after an hour. Some of the games are huge so this will continue for a while but nothing will stop me from using it in the mean time. It has all night while I sleep!

What sucks is you don't have the control over what to download like you do in iTunes - for example, I don't want any of my music, but it's downloading all of it. Or I have some old DVD-quality movies, I'd rather not get those from the cloud until I'm ready to watch them, too bad.

I'm rolling with laughter since my Uncle literally just called me to tell me that he deleted all 500 contacts in his Address Book accidentally using the Neat Works software for that Neat scanner. Anyway, he has "back up to iCloud" checked in iTunes and no manual backups of any kind. His iCloud.com address book is empty. lol It's not funny but you don't know the history he has with clicking **** he never understands... or listening to me for that matter.

So it's great when it works and you know how to use it. That's all I can say. :D

How do you get this cloud stuff going? My iPad see's my iPhone backup in the cloud, but how do I get all that stuff copied to the iPad? Or does it have to be a backup/restore to like devices rather than the main iTunes configuration?
