What is the point of iCloud backup if everything bellow is checked ☑️ ?

Those settings do not include everything. For example, with iCloud backup, when you restore a phone, your apps are re-downloaded and the home screens and icon positions are also restored. I think Apple Watch backups are also included under iCloud backup.

I think he misstated. But iCloud backup does backup things other toggles don't. Don't be stubborn, man, just turn the thing on and forget about it.

I'm not being stubborn. I am just trying to understand how it work and whats its point. Is my first iPhone and when google cant answer my questions i am coming here. So maybe for you my question sounds dumb ? but i am just learning IOS.

If you don’t click iCloud backup, you won’t be able to restore an iPhone or set up a new one from a backup from iCloud. It puts everything together.

Ok. I think I understand. But not really. I really don't understand why is this discrepancy for Whatsapp for example. The normal iCloud takes 39mb for it.
The backup of iCloud takes over 1gb for the same app.
All this while whatsapp is reporting only 39mb of space necessary. Soooo....how is this accurate? What am I missing?

If you turn on include videos does your WhatsApp backup go up to over 1gb?

Yes it does go to 1.2 Gb. I haven't tried this. Thank you. So if i only want the text and pics am I covered checking the whatsapp toggle in iCloud, while i leave iCloud backup on off?

So it looks like WhatsApp itself is only backing up chat and pics (this should be the 39.4mb you see in WhatsApp and iCloud storage). Your iCloud backup is backing up ALL the data associated with WhatsApp, so chat, pics and videos.

If you are happy for just chat and pics being backed up then turn off WhatsApp in your iCloud backup.
