iCloud calendar question

me and my girlfriend both have iMacs, MacBooks and iPhones each. we will both have a separate @me address. i know there is a way to share our calendars with each other, but how do you do it? i saw that you can set your calendar as private and public. if its private would i just invite her through her @me addy? and also, it says if its public, anyone can read it. how exactly would you see a public calendar though? where do you go to find it?

I'm not sure myself, but maybe you have to use the same e-mail for the iCalendar? Mine is downloading now, so I haven't looking too much into yet.
