    Hi all,

    Just a quick question.
My girlfriend and I both have iCloud accounts.

According to the page on the apple site about iCloud and calendars it's possible to use iCloud to share the calendars so that it's "A diary your whole family can add to. Or a team schedule that every player can access. As soon as someone adds or edits an event, iCloud updates it wirelessly on everyone’s devices."

What I want to know is how do I set that up? We both work shifts so it'd be useful if I can enter my shifts on my iPhone or MBP and she can enter her shifts on her MBP and we can see what each other is doing.

    All help appreciated.

    Regards.

I'm sure you can do this on your computer, but I found the easiest way to share Calenders or Reminders (yes, you can share Reminder lists... great for groceries - that's what my fiance and I use it for) is from icloud.com. You can click the small airport/rss-esque icon to the right of the calendar name and share it with another icloud user. They should receive an e-mail or a pop-up message to confirm that they want to share. From there, you both should be able to add, view or edit the calendar.

Does this then work with iOS devices? If it only works online with iCloud, it kind of defeats the purpose of sharing lists an the calendar when we're out etc. I'm seeing if this will work like it did when we shared a common MobileMe account.

it works just like MobileMe did. You have to use your computer to start the initial share. After that you can use your devices.

Except that Google Calendar can no longer Subscribe to iCloud Calendar Shares like it could with MobileMe Calendar Shares. I hope this gets resolved soon.

    Here is the error:

Could not fetch the url because robots.txt prevents us from crawling the url.

seems like what i need. the wife and i want to utilize/maintain one calendar on our home computer & iDevices, but keep seperate contacts. our wrinkle is; a PC with Outlook 2007. i understand we need seperate iClould accounts, but can she view & maintain the shared calendar in Outlook under her profile then. I dont think so, but have not tested it yet.

in the end we just want to wirelessly sync a family calendar, our own contacts, & own task/reminders. if i have to move away from Outlook i will. not sure which way to move though......

I had a lot of problems doing "Calendar Sync" between Apple Applications and MS Applications. I prefer to use "Subscriptions" and/or Sharing for Calendars. For me I use iCloud with a "Mike Work", "Mike Personal" etc. for my Calendars. Then I have "Mike Wife" for the Calendar we Share (Read/Write for both of us). She also has her own Personal Calendars. I also have a Golf Calendar that she Subscribes Too (like others) since she does not ever change it. I also Subscribe to Calendars of co-workers are are using Windows Live Calendar and Google Calendar.

so how do you interface with the calendars? the wife really likes having a desktop calendar (Outlook). i could move her over to iCloud & our iDevices with a push maybe.... in other words she just wants to load up Outlook on our home PC and do her thing. i want that calendar to push to both our iPhones.

    thanks.

Look at iCloud Control Panel for Windows. You install along with Safari and iTunes etc. There you Sync your iCloud Contacts and Calendar with Outlook. Make sure to make a backup of your PST File from time to time. I had a couple problems with the Calendar because it changed along the way with which calendar it synced with. We no longer use Outlook. I am now on a Mac (+ iPhone and iPad) and my wife mainly uses her iPhone and iPad. When on Windows she uses the Web Interface (not often). We each have out own iCloud Account and we use me.com for email. We each have our Personal and Work Calendars and we also Share a Calendar that we both update with things we do together.

quick question. My fiancé and i share a calendar in iCloud. everything works, my question is when i add an event on the shared calendar, she will get an email (which is fine) but when she selects "view" from that email, it takes her to the set up iCloud on this device page even thought its already set up on her iPhone. is this normal?
