I've been working to clean up duplicate contacts after having a really message Contacts list for the last few weeks.

So I used an app to assist with merging duplicates from my iPhone. Which synced UP to iCloud just fine. iCloud and my iPhone match pretty close with the counts off just by a few. However, on my MBP, it will not sync correctly no matter what I do. I have unchecked syncing with icloud and rebooted SEVERAL times, and every time I check to box for iCloud contacts again, it just shows the same list with nearly 3000 contacts, which should be 1000 that iCloud.com shows now.

I have tried searching for the cache to see if I can clear it out somehow. I have let it sit for over and hour and no change to the list. I have tried even merging from my macbook and that made the issue worse, went from 2000 contacts showing on mac to now 3000.

Again, I am ONLY using icloud to sync contacts between my appleid devices. I turned off all other accounts for contacts.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Andy

You are AWESOME! Thank you. I knew there had to be a folder keeping all my old contacts. I deleted that Address Book folder and turned sync back on and voila!

Thanks again.
