iCloud "device" confusion

So numerous times apple has said icloud does a back up of your device. But at WWDC Steve had said that the mac and pc is just another "device", so i have wondered does this mean the mac will get a daily back up? I have looked on Apple and it says device never really going into any specifics. Anyone have any thoughts?
