iCloud document disappeared!

Yesterday i was working on a document, then quickly had to leave, shut down pages it asked me to save, i was in a rush so i just pressed save which automatically saved it to iCloud, I checked it had saved, it definitely did.

Opened my macbook this morning to continue working on it and it's gone!

I've logged in to iCloud.com and tried from Pages on my mac... nothing

Is there any way i can get it back? almost a days work gone.

Is iCloud set up properly on the Mac? if not, you might be able to access the document from an IOS device which has Pages installed on it, then sync it back to your Mac.

If you do Time Machine backups, you might be able to recover it - if the Mac did a backup. Otherwise, you're hosed. iCloud really works "great" - until it doesn't. The Apple forums are full of people losing emails, contacts, calendars, and documents.

It may actually be on your mac. You still have a copy of it on your mac.
