So, I am a little confused at the moment. In order to have my documents synced on both my Mac desktop and laptop I have to enable iCloud Drive to sync my stuff to the cloud which is fine. My problem is I want my documents saved also locally to my Mac desktop but now since iCloud Drive is enabled for documents it has moved the documents tab under the iCloud Tab in finder. Is there no way to have my documents saved locally and also to the iCloud, since I use my desktop more frequently than my MacBook?

I believe files are still stored locally. However it will move infrequently used files to the cloud and also if space becomes limiting. If you uncheck "optimize storage" in icloud settings then it keeps a local copy no matter what.

You have nothing to worry about. Your documents will be stored both locally and in iCloud. Only if Mac storage becomes low will they be deleted on the local machine.

The Documents folder under the iCloud Drive are synced locally and on iCloud. It takes your Documents Folder and puts it under iCloud Drive so that it syncs to iCloud and it is local on your computer.

Apple's iCloud Drive doesn't have selective syncing so it's always syncing everything under iCloud Drive to your hard drive and to iCloud.
