iCloud drive as external storage?

Hi, was just wondering if its possible to use iCloud drive like an external storage backup in the cloud, and not a syncing service?

At the moment if i delete locally, it also deletes files in the cloud as well.

I would like to back up my a hard drive in the cloud, but don't want a local copy of it on my machine.

Any help would be much appreciated. 🙂
