iCloud Drive file sharing?

Has anyone played with the new iCloud file sharing feature? Does it work similar to Dropbox?

Seems to work somewhat similar. You can specify users (they have to login via AppleID), or open link, which then gives them the option to download the file or add it to their iCloud Drive.

Did you manage to do it with folders? In iOS 11 Files if I select 'share' on a folder I get the option to 'add people'. Individual file sharing seems kind of useless but folder sharing would be so great.
