iCloud Drive: Is anybody able to store files?

Hello,


is anybody able to store files in the iCloud Drive using Finder?
For me, the filesystem in that folder acts like it is read-only and I can see no files in it.

I can't either of DP3. Like you said it seems read only can't copy files or create directories within it.

I'm able to create a new folder [ eg. pictures ] and transfer from iPhoto. Took a while and had to force quit iPhoto and Finder, after endless beach-balling.

Upon re-opening the iCloud folder within Finder, I found most pictures had indeed been transferred, but some didn't carry over and the *date modified* column reads ' Jan 24, 1984 '

I wasn't even born then... 😛

Oh well...it's sorta working.

I can and see folders for Keynot, Numbers and the other Apple Apps. These folders did not appear initially after DP3 install.

On DP2 I tried copying all my docs there just for fun and it worked fairly well.

Yes now that I have those folders I can now copy files into the iCloud drive.

Well you can always check if it is actually read only with the terminal command

ls -al ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents | head -n 2

should be drwxr-xr-x


Aside from checking that I'd just recommend trying these things:

1) Enable and disable iCloud Drive in system preferences

2) Sign out of iCloud in system preferences and sign back in

3) Restart your computer

Thanks! I disabled and enabled iCloud Drive again in system preferences and now it is working like it should.

After another reboot, the iCloud Drive is syncing (badly through Amazon AWS) 🙁

I'm able to store files there, but i'm still missing the iCloud Drive app on iOS and also a webapp on iCloud.com to access the stored files like in Dropbox.

I don't think there will be an app on iOS. Instead each individual app will be able to save documents to the iCloud drive. In a particular app that supports iCloud drive will have a browser like app to save or load files.

As Apple write on their website uploading and accessing files through the Finder or Windows Explorer will be possible.

Obviously iCloud Drive is not going to be functioning 100% until closer to it's actual release with iOS 8 and Yosemite. I'm not even sure it will be a totally clean experience at that point. I mean it wasn't even named iCloud Drive in Yosemite until DP3.

Nope. This is OS X, so I want it out of the box. 😀

Still no folder for icloud photo library?. Please apple don't mess this up and do it like you did for pages, numbers etc so we can drag and drop.
