Waaaaaaay back in the days of MobileMe, I could click

    Finder > Go > iDisk > Other User's iDisk

This would allow me to type in my Apple ID, and access my iDisk files, natively. Can anyone tell me if this is in Yosemite with iCloud Drive? I have not yet upgraded to Drive because I'm not on iOS 8. Tonight while my boyfriend was working on a project, however, I noticed how useful this would have been!

Yes iCloud Drive works very similar to iDisk.

iCloud Drive is already in my Finder window, I click it and it shows any Folders or loose files I have stored there.
It shows this on my laptop, desktop and any computer I have associated with my iCloud account.

Back to my Mac allows you to Remotely access or ScreenShare another Mac computer that is associated with you AppleID/iCloud account. It also just lets you access the files on that computer also without seeing the remote desktop. Especially those outside of your local network, like a Mac you use at your office.
