Guys, I started to use my Files app on my iPhone 11 running the latest FW and the iCloud drive on my Mac. But when I drop most files in to iCloud Drive on my Mac there's a MASSIVE delay for them to show on the Files app on my phone. A lot of the times it takes a day. These are simple Word or Excel documents of minimal size.

I get the dotted cloud icon on my iCloud driver on the Mac. I'm assuming this means the transfer to the cloud has not been done. Is that correct?

If I drop the files into Drop Box, they show immediately in there. Surely Apple should be quick at this too, seeing as it's going from Apple to Apple!

That's not normal behavior. My files sync almost instantly (depending on file size, of course).

Have you tried logging out of iCloud on your Mac, then logging back in? That seems to be the "go-to" solution to start with for a bunch of iCloud sync issues.

I logged out and back in to iCloud, alas, still having this issue. It's very strange. Some documents don't cut across at all.

I may have to call Apple tech a call.

Another thing to try is to change the name of the problem file, and move it to a different folder. Then check to see if it kicks iCloud in the butt.

Thanks MacGizmo. Alas, this applies to most files - word, jpeg, Excel etc. And all sizes small and large.

Thanks jeyf. I'll post details later of a couple of file types and sizes. But as mentioned above, it applies to most types and sizes.

Update guys: Documents now seem to be going over from my Mac to my Files app on my iPhone. The only thing is, once on the Files app, I have the blue download cloud symbol with the downward arrow. I thought I wouldn't need to download anything to my phone as the documents are supposed to be in the cloud. Or have I got this wrong?
