I make a very sparse use of iCloud, only for small things like contacts, bookmarks and such things, so I am using only the basic free plan.

Recently, it seems one of my devices started to synchronize pictures and documents which quickly caused the storage to be full. So I am now trying to see where the issue comes from, and the short answer is, I cannot seem to make it.

I tried to deactivate all synchronizations everywhere, but am not sure how to 100% confirm that.

I can see which photos are on the iCloud web app, and delete them one by one from there (what a core!), but the main screen does not show space being freed, so I am not even sure this is doing any good. I would just like to wipe the folder, but do not see any option to do it.

I also see that documents take a huge amount of space, but I cannot even know what they are since the Web App does not let me look into files (I get a strange error, that I can report to Apple ---not sure it does any good). So, I am not even sure what is stored there. I tried to activate "Desktop & Documents Folders" on one of my computers where these store nothing, and would hope for a synchronization to happen, but it does not, so even then I cannot understand what these folders store actually!

How could I make progress to regain control on my iCloud ?
