iCloud full, deleting mail isn't freeing up space

My 5GB iCloud space is full and I've been moving all of my iClouds emails over to a 'on my Mac' folder, but it's not showing that any space is being freed up.

Is there something I'm missing?

You need to see what it taking up space and go from there. I think for others to help, tell us what devices you have.

If you're on Yosemite, click on System Preferences and go to iCloud. You'll see what's taking up your space at the bottom.

I don't know if space isn't being freed or if it just isn't showing right away in settings. I've niticied the same thing.
