i got paranoid about only having a physical backup of my computer so I paid for a big iCloud account. Is there a way to just use iCloud for a time machine backup. So far, I could only figure out how set things like folders and photos to be backed up. But when I looks at my storage on the cloud, I still have way too much space as if my photos didn’t back up properly. Did I need to wait for a little bit until the mac was able to send everything to the cloud. Thanks any tips and help would be appreciated.

iCloud cannot be used for time machine backups. If you have a lot of photos/videos, it will take time, so just let it do it’s thing.

You mean you went into Time Machine Preferences, had an option to select iCloud as your backup disk, and selected it?
No I meant that I think it’s backing up all my photos now. I’ll check later to see if more iCloud storage has been used to confirm.

If you are using iCloud photos for your backup it is easy enough to check. Log into your iCloud account in Safari and see if the photos are there.
