Finally.....Apple is starting to get it right.
So with iCloud, devs can have their data stored in the cloud. What does this mean? Well it means that no longer do you have to worry about app data if you have to wipe your phone, or delete an app. Yeah, typically that data should be in a backup, but I ran into an exception to that yesterday.
Wife's iPhone was upgraded to iOS5......somehow it corrupted her camera roll....no photos BUT the OS still reported 900MB being taken up (I know this because that's what iCloud backup was trying to backup). Anyway....no matter what I did, couldn't fix it. So I have to start clean and wipe her phone.
Soundhound is an app that can store bookmarks and history in iCloud. Well, after wiping her phone, when I installed Soundhound.....it knew it's data was in the cloud and used it!
This is going to be a great way to keep data secure.
I also hope that game devs can take advantage of it. I'd love to be able to use a Universal game....start on the iPad, and pick up where I left off on my iPhone. Hopefully iCloud will allow this.
