    People,

I finally got sick and tired of iCloud duplicating my bookmarks into thousands and thousands that my browser in my iPad and iPhone crashes all the time. Not to mention the sync I had set up on the Chrome on my PC's is also causing issues....

I have saved my original bookmarks and wiped it out clean on all the devices and waited over night and sync'ed a fresh copy(202 k) again. Lasted a few days and then the thousands of replicating bookmarks happened again...worth 85 MB!!!

I heard we have to download a tool called 'prairiefire' or something to get rid of the duplicates!

Well, this is NOT how this is supposed to work as opposed to paying a premium on Apple products for "It just works". Well it just worked overtime.

I am tired of this crap with no tool or fix from Apple regarding this issue.

So I got rid of all Apple laptops and iMac's and all I am left is with this phone and iCloud just did it for me.

Hello Samsung S5! I am looking at you and the rich Google services! (Love Waze btw)

I have noticed that Apple with its recent botched updates, soldered memory to the Mac Mini etc etc... has finally been trapped by Wall Street to show profits rather than a refined product for which its famous for.

Good bye Apple. It was fun while it lasted.

In my opinion, selling all your Apple products was extreme. I also don't see why you felt a need to create a thread telling the forum you sold your Apple products, because it really doesn't matter what others think or the suggestions they could have offered at this point.

Ranting and raving about this to strangers who probably don't really care what you did or do, doesn't really accomplish anything.

Enjoy your burned bridge and whatever OS you go to.

Shockingly, you can use Google Services on Apple products too!

    Agreed!

I bought a Mercedes-Benz S600, but the cigarette lighter didn't work, so I sold the car!

Getting rid of all Apple devices because you have a problem with one Apple service indicates you weren't committed to solving the problem and getting good use from your devices. Trying a couple things and giving up without investigating alternatives or asking for help in the forum shows you're more interested in ranting than in learning how to use your devices properly.

All the devices you got rid of worked just fine before iCloud was even available.

Not really. I use Google voice extensively and in Android it is integrated into the dialer rather than being a separate app on iOS.

    ----------

Ahh.. so quoting the reason for me opting out of Apple is not sitting well with you?

So I guess this thread should be ONLY about people going ga-ga over Apple.

    ----------

Wrong analogy. How about, I sold my Mercedes because the the gear shifter would go to the sixth when I only had it on first?

Please save your lecture on how to use the devices properly. If there are a bunch of people who stretch their limits on their devices i will be one of them! I am glad you are not an Apple customer service rep.

Plus what's the big deal anyway. It's easy for me to go buy a device that *actually works* without having to tweak and tune (wait a minute, thats what Apple says about Windows?)

And please save your replies... I am out of this forum as well.

Hope you die hard fans keep the Apple spirit alive. God speed and wish you all the best!

No, it was the right analogy. The gear shifter not working would be a fundamental flaw that affects the usability of the vehicle. The cigarette lighter not working, while an inconvenience, does not render the vehicle unusable. The iCloud bookmark syncing issue, while inconvenient, does not render your Macs unusable at all. In fact, a great host of Mac owners never use that feature. While that feature may be important to you, it ranks extremely low on the list of things you can use your computers for.

The decision to get rid of your Macs is yours to make, but don't expect anyone to justify your reason for doing so, because it's a foolish criteria for getting rid of a computer.

There are plenty of people who don't like Apple products, and that's OK. Like every other manufacturer, Apple products are not perfect. If you simply prefer Windows computers, buy and use them. But to abandon Macs and OS X because of bookmark syncing alone demonstrates poor decision making.

He didn't really stretch the limits of his iPhone, though. A jailbroken one can integrate Google Voice as I have been doing for over 3 years.
