Anybody else been having trouble with it?

Since upgrading from MobileMe I've had intermittent problems with the calendar app - adding new events and trying to save them gives the error message "Cannot Save Event. No Calendar has been set." Trying a second time gives the error message "Cannot Save Event. That event does not belong to that event store."

It all started when I tried to sync exclusively to iCloud instead of my MBA. I've reset my phone to factory settings about 6 times since. It goes wrong every couple of weeks, and I need to reset it again.

Pain in the hole, and incredibly time consuming to sort my phone out again. Also, every time I try and sync it, it doesn't seem to want to put my apps on, and I have to set everything up again from the phone, downloading from the app store. Takes ages. Anyone got any ideas?

Found workaround.

Are you using iCloud contacts or Gmail (or ??). I was using Gmail when iOS5 arrived, even having Gmail fetch my (old) pop3 email addresses. Things got complicated fast with iCloud, so I tried having Gmail forward all my email to iCloud's address. It went downhill from there.

I ended up with double/triple contacts and an empty Gmail calendar. At that point, I decided to use only iCloud contacts, mail and calendar. Took some time to set it up, but I haven't had any problems since.
