Hi guys,

Since upgrading to El Capitan every time I log on to my Mac I get asked for my iCloud password. The Mac is registered on my iCloud account along with my iPhone and iPad.

Is there any reason why this keeps happening?

Yes because it needs to verify or there's a problem it's nagging i know

That is not normal. If I were you, renaming your home folder (by login to other users) usually faster solution rather than troubleshoot the problem. Once you had stable system, then move personal files from the old folder to the new home.
