iCloud lock or firmware (EFI) lock?

Can anybody tell if this is a iCloud lock or an EFI lock? It used to only show when Option was held in, but I used Startup Disk in OS X Mavericks to startup in Target Disk Mode, and now it starts up to the lock and won't accept a PRAM Reset and SMC reset doesn't help.

It's a mid-2014 MacBook Pro 15" Retina 2.5ghz i7

That is an EFI lock. Only Apple or an AASP can remove that with proper proof of purchase.
