Turn off Find My iPhone on the device (or remove the device from Find My iPhone settings at www.icloud.com).
If you got the phone off ebay or something, you got scammed. If you stole it, then shame on you.
Well, it's a security feature. Removing it would mean it's no longer a security feature so, yeah. It's permanent.
Now if you're asking how to DEFEAT iCloud lock, then that's a question the mods here frown on and threads like that tend to get deleted by them.
Defeating iCloud lock is not possible and discussion about that (defeating a security feature) is not allowed here.
