Icloud music library toggle?

So I have next to nothing on my phone, yet mysteriously most of my space is used up, I read that toggling this setting off/on will remove the apple music cache from your phone.

My question (an maybe a dumb one)

will I lose all of my albums i have added over time form Apple music?

Well, I did it anyway and it just rebuilt the library for the device, I ended up regaining 17GB from doing this. This seems like a huge bug on Apple's part and i can't believe more people are not complaining about it.
