    It's weird, on my iCloud.com and my iCal my calendars date all the way back, but on my iPhone before a certain date (for me it's before sept 15 of this year) I have no calendar events. I assume this is when ical does not sync any events older than 30 days. How do I change this?

    I have no other issues with regards to syncing, but I would like to have all of my calendar events of the past show up, how do I do this?

    it's in your iphone settings

    settings -> mail, contacts, calendars
    then scroll down past your accounts, there are calendar options there

    But in iTunes/Info, "Sync iCal Calendars" has a box that allows the user to control "Do Not Sync Events Older Than" x number of days. The default is 30.

    Does the Settings setting on the iDevice over-ride this setting, or should it be set to something maybe like "0" or a really huge number of days to ensure all events sync from iCal to iCloud?

    Why would you sync your calendars locally when they are already synced via iCloud?
