Perhaps a dumb question? Will iCloud outgoing mail server work with all email accounts even if they are not iCloud accounts? I always have trouble with my providers outgoing mail server so I'd like to switch to another outgoing mail server, and I have iCloud email, so will iCloud outgoing server send outgoing emails for all my accounts? I have 2 other accounts that are not iCloud accounts.

I have multiple accounts and can send emails from any of them from the mac or the iOS devices (great for travel - hotels - airports etc) - you just need to set up the out going servers and then you can select which one you want to email from. The down side is the email will come from your xxxxx @icloud.com account etc. - but you will be able to send emails

For some internet providers you can also find out which port is best to use for the outgoing server and configure each outgoing server - especially emails that are on custom domains that are often block from internet service providers.

No, that will not work.
Thanks, that's kinda what I was afraid of. When my providers outgoing mail server works I can send email from all my accounts on their outgoing mail server including iClouds emails. So in other words if I did set up iCloud to use Apples servers I'd have to set up my other accounts using a different server, kinda useless for me, so I'll check with my provider for a more stable outgoing server.

You can select the outgoing server on each outgoing email

Thanks, but I already know this, with my present provider I only need one outgoing server for all accounts,
iCloud only works for iCloud, I wanted to use it for all accounts, but alas that cannot be done.
A mismatch in SMTP servers and email addresses will also often cause messages to get sorted as spam, so it’s really not advisable to send messages that way.
