iCloud Photo Library - Any reason to still use My Photostream with it?

When I turned the iCloud Photo Library on, it also turned on My Photostream with it. But I turned My Photostream off right away on all devices. Right now iCloud Photo Library is working well and doing what I want.

I am just curious what My Photostream would do for me in addition to iCloud Photo Library? Is it just for legacy devices? Or would it do something different with my newer devices?
