I installed iOS 11 GM on my iPhone 7 Plus and so far so good.

I was curious about this "Unlimited Updates" switch in the Photos cellular settings. It says turning it on may cause me to exceed my "quota". Anyone know exactly how much this limits cellular data usage by Photos? It'd be nice to have photos upload over cellular while traveling, and having a throttle in place to prevent too much data plan usage would be great, but the phone doesn't say how much this limits it.

I don't know the answer to your question about the unlimited updates toggle but does this mean that we can update the icloud photo library with cellular? Before it only updated with wifi, unless the cellular toggle was available in iOS10 and I wasn't aware.

Yep, it now updates over cellular if you enable it. Unfortunately that would mean a 1GB 4K video uploading and using up the data plan, which is why I want to know about this toggle. :)

    Good catch.

If I were to venture a guess, it may be leveraging "Usage" data (available for some carriers like T-Mobile, under Cellular | Usage) to determine whether it should upload photos and videos over cellular or not.
