I just spend the last few days backing up my photos from my iMac in Photos to iCloud Photo Library. I think I had around 78gb of photos.

But in iTunes when my 7 plus is connected is shows all 78 gb taking up space on my phone.

I have searched online to figure out how to fix this or what I did to cause this...but no luck

Can someone fill me in on what I did to cause the photo to be in the iCloud photo library and physically taking up space on my 7 plus.

Cheers

you have "download and keep originals" selected and not "optimize iPhone storage". so literally all your photos are downloaded to your phone....

I have it set to "Optimize iPhone storage". But I may have had it "store originals".

What is the best way to resolve this ?

Turn iCloud Photo Library off entirely, so it removes all photos from the device and wait a while for them all to clear, perhaps even overnight (especially with that many photos). Then switch it back on with 'Optimise storage' chosen.

Ok. I'll try tonight.

Thanks
