I have iCloud photos enabled and have "download originals" to my mac selected in the Photos app. I don't see where they are being "downloaded" as all the pics in photos app are iCloud previews or optimized. When i click on the photos and click "get info" it just shows photo info and not stuff like location information like where the pic is stored as if it was stored locally. Am I doing something wrong.

They are being stored locally on the Mac in a single managed library file. I found this with an Internet search: "If you want to know exactly where your library is, you can open Photos and then “Preferences”, and the “General” tab will show you the location."

Let me double check. I know the library is the stock location but when I hit get info on the pic in that folder, it's seems like it's gotta download it and it's just a preview. Also l, I clicked on the option to have the side bar in the photos folder. When I right clicked on an album "download to the mac" was unchecked for all items. I think it's showing me the cloud previews. I already had it set to keep originals on the computer. Don't know why the option was available to check.
