Setup:
iMac 1TB Fusion Drive w/ Photos for Mac, latest OS Version, 87,000 Photos equaling about 550 Gigabytes
MacBook Pro i7 w/ 500GB SSD
iPad Air2 128GB
iPhone 6 128GB

iCloud Photo Library enabled on all devices, 1 Terabyte iCloud Storage Plan active. All devices share the same iCloud account. iMac is the host computer with all original photos stored. I synced it to iCloud before enabling iCloud Photo Library on the other 3 devices.

--------

When I open Photos on Macs, everything works great. MacBook Pro is set to optimize storage and not download full resolution to save space. Same settings on iPhone & iPad since not using optimize would fill up their storage with photos.

When I use Instagram, Untappd or any other application that loads from the Photo Library on my iOS device, there's a 90 second delay from clicking "Choose Photo" and the photo window opening. Selecting a photo from All Photos takes another 60 seconds.

My iPhone shows "87K photos" but not all are downloaded and all are stored "optimized" as per iOS settings. I want to remain using this setup but eliminate the slowness.

Tips?
