Working again in Australia too, mine was getting the message nearly everytime I tried to access Photos. I was able to access it with no problem this morning and as expected it appears to be uploading from my iPhone 6 quicker.

What everyone needs to remember, this is still in BETA and if you were all expecting it to work perfectly you should wait till it is no longer in BETA

Yeah anything labeled beta is allowed to do crash and stuff.

From a man using both the nexus 5 and the iphone 6. While iphone 6 is a much better phone than the nexus 5 in every aspect hands down, except the google service like picassa, and every internet service of google are muchh much better and faster than iCloud. Wish someone at apple hijack the head of google internet service lol

I like iCloud becasue when I take a photo it becomes available on all my devices with no work on my part. However, I too am a bit concerned about the service. I download all my photos to my Mac and have it backed up on timemachine. I use iPhoto and Aperature on my Mac, but for some reason they have become much slower since Yosemite. I really do hope that they work out all the kinks and release their new photo app soon. like I said I like the convinience of iCloud but am looking for something better from Apple.

The way people moan you'd think this wasn't in Beta.

Currently using Photo Stream, and wirelessly backing up to my Mac. Works fine for me, but looking forward to the finished iCloud photos solution, too :)

The unreliability of Apples software in the last year has me reconsidering the entire brand.

I hope this trend of a million disorganized unstable features isn't an indicator of the future.

This is why I've ditched reliance on big company cloud services and created my own synology(shameless plug) at home cloud with an active off-site nas backup.

To follow up. Apple, please slow the roll on hardware (I know you're a hardware company but...) and refine your software

You see, I've been telling everyone since day one DO NOT RELY ON ANY CLOUD for your data!!! Using a cloud is basically using someone else's external hard drive. Use your own external storage device, back everything up, and do everything the old skool way, you know, the RELIABLE way.

Google syncing is way better than apple cloud syncing.

Yeah. But in this single case, before opting in a beta service, one should have understood that services in beta may have glitches, right? Copy and paste this when the same thing happens after the service reaches its general release, shall we?

Anyway, I think you might mean to say "Don't rely on cloud as your only copy of data". Well, I rely on cloud to sync, and so far so good. The old school way isn't drastically more reliable after all, and it is always about weighting pros and cons. If one gonna transport something important with strict requirements (e.g. timeliness) and fails to foresee the potential risk factors (e.g. no/slow internet connection, thumb drive lost), it is more of one's own problem I would say.

What is even the point of this thread?! We're talking about a product that is clearly labeled as BETA!!! Outages, hiccups, problems are expected! If you think otherwise you shouldn't be using iCloud Photo Library.

iCloud around the corner. Run for your lifes.

Apple's fantastic with desktop systems, but most stuff related to online services is a huge fail. Even simple things like synching binaries between devices doesn't work reliably (i.e. artwork in iTunes Match, adresses on iOS, emails and instant messages etc.). Even worse, I don't understand some of their 'it just works' stuff (and I have a strong background in IT). Admittedly, it might be the case that it's just me being dumb, but what's the point about all that iCloud email and synching ?

True. I remember when I had my old iphone 4, I started using the cloud to help sync contacts and then I ran into some weird glitchy things like contacts missing and contacts being added that I didn't want added (like from yahoo or something). Now with my nexus 5 I use google's servers to store my contacts but I do also have my google contacts synced to my iMac's Address Book and have also backed up the vcards for those.

It's fine to use cloud storage as a sync service but make sure you have the same data backed up on your own storage medium. Especially contact's vcards. I hate it when a friend posts on facebook or soemthing, "lost all my contacts, put your number in the comments" it's like um hunny did you not think to BACK UP your contacts or at least write them all down with pen and paper??? Or if you type faster than writing, type your contacs and print it out and save it onto your external storage device.

People rely too much on technology for simple things. Keep a physical address book and write down your friend's numbers with pen and paper! Then you'll NEVER loose them! lol.

Why are you laughing??? My nexus 5 and galaxy s3 syncs the same exact stuff. I add calander events and contacts to my nexus 5, sync it, then sync my s3 and everything on my nexus 5 is on my s3 regarding contacts and calendar events.

The iPhone is a pain to sync. I remember from my old iPhone 4 that I still have and use as a backup alarm clock. You have to back up your iphone which takes anywhere from 1 minute to an hour or more, then it syncs, then it does some other process, THEN FINALLY it's finished.

Um yah google syncing is much less of a headache than having to wait a million years just to add one picture or one contact to your phone.
