Hi,

so I’m in the U.K and by broadband is provided by Virgin Media. They have the ability to filter out adult content at their ISP level, as a user you can turn this on or off.

I noticed that this was set on but my iPad was still allowing adult websites to appear. I know that changing your DNS settings can override this but didn’t know ( until today ) that Apple has a setting called ‘iCloud private relay’ that also overrides your ISP and thus will allow adult content. Not great when you have young children and now you think about what they have been Web surfing.

So, you have to turn this off within your Wi-Fi settings.

Maybe enable restrictions in the device settings ?
Settings app > Screen Time > Content & Privacy restrictions > Content restrictions > Web content > Limit adult websites
That way it’ll be restricted no matter which wifi the iPad is connected to and even when using iCloud private relay

Thanks. I was never aware of this and so I will have a play. Cheers
