Hello,

Oh boy !
I really messed myself up, good, probably this time.

To say I would appreciate some help with this is a real understatement.

Running High Sierra.
Figured it was about time I learned about iCloud, which I never have before.
One of the screens was an offer to backup various items, and i guess i allowed this.

Well, all my documents, and Folders I had on my Desktop are now totally gone.
No more Documents Folder either on my Dock to the right of the dividing line. (the Applic. Folder is there)

Wow ! No more "playing around" for me.

Are all of these items still on my iMac, somewhere ?

How do i get back to where i was before playing with iCloud ? (Desktop items, Documents Folder, etc. ?)

Much thanks,
Bob

Untick "Optimise Mac Storage" and "Desktop & Document Folders" as in my settings. Does it come back?

Hi,

Appreciate the help; thanks.
Not too sharp with this stuff, obviously.
Will blame it on old age now. (mid 80's). Sure does catch up with you !

Have backups, but not fully.

Where do i find the: Optimise Mac Storage" and "Desktop & Document Folders" as in my settings
that you suggest ? Not sure how to find it.

Again,
thanks,
Bob

even 30's first timer also make mistake confuse with the "Icloud thing" .

You can check the file at the icloud.com or if you have phone icloud are sync with the "File Manager Backup Icloud".Hopely you can download.

Another one, please buy the first tier, or second tier icloud space , yes it troublesome or you backup manually which more difficult to do.
