I use OneDrive, Google Drive, and have used various Amazon S3 buckets in the past - pretty well versed in cloud storage.
Question: I'd like to use iCloud Drive a bit more as I'm tired of having data everywhere. So, I downloaded my 2600+ Google Documents as .docx (120mb) and moved them to iCloud Drive. I have 7MB in my iCloud Drive (various files). When the transfer was done, it said my iCloud Drive was using 460MB. Using Finder and Disk Expert it was clear that iCloud was only taking 128MB of hard drive space. Yet, iCloud continued to report 460+ MB of usage (before reporting 7.6MB).
I removed the folder and re-uploaded with the same results 2 additional times. Any clue why 120mb of documents would have iCloud saying I'm using almost half a gig?
Thoughts: iCloud needs selective sync before I can use it for my primary cloud storage. I have about 89GB of stuff in Google Drive (not counting photos) - and I couldn't have that all synced to my 128GB Air. I would love to consolidate all my cloud storage though. Any clue when selective syncing will be available?
