Running 10.7.2 and had iCloud enabled for contacts, email, back to my mac. Was thrilled with the Google CalDAV implementation to share my calendar amongst devices and with my wife so did not enable iCal sync to the iCloud.
For the first time since turning on iCloud, I opened iCal on the iMac today and was informed iCal couldn't log in to my Google account. Reentered passwords, checked that it was working online. Did a search and found no answers. I then unchecked all iCloud functions and signed out. Opened iCal again and it worked.
If iCloud is going to affect my iCal functionality when used with Google it is a non-starter for me. Just wanted others to be aware of this if they run into the same problem.
