Hi all,

I feel like I'm being incredibly inefficient and need some clarification. I primarily use my iPhone for photos and upload most photos I save to a shared photo albums. (Let's be realistic - most pictures are of my kid or my cats.). I use the 99c per month 50gb iCloud plan which I'm about to max out. I'm checking, I have iCloud Photo Library enabled, iCloud Photo Sharing enabled, and don't make a habit of deleting pictures I upload to my photo library from my phone. Am I correct in assuming with photo library, I'm backing up all of the pictures on my phone to my library, as well as all the pictures in my shared libraries, but that in my phone backup I'm not backing up photos a third time because they're already saved?

I'm fine upgrading to the $2.99 per month plan if that makes life simpler, but I have this feeling I'm saving multiple copies and need to organize better.

Can anyone confirm the best course of action and how would you handle photo storage?

Thanks
