Agreed. I have 355GB of data on a 2TB plan. I would love a 500GB or 1TB tier.I'm not mad at the prices, which are not extremely bad, but I'm mad at no plan between 200GB and 2TB.
It would be nice if they gave you 2 dozen eggs when they double the price. Apparently it doesn't work that way.Storage space should be increased if they're raising prices.
Definitely. All of the retailers did that same promotion on Black Friday this year - I think even Costco was doing a $15 Costco gift card if you buy a $100 Apple gift card but Best Buy, Target and Amazon all did that promotion (for a $15 bonus)You could just create your own 20% discount by buying Apple gift cards when they go on sale.
Target had their Buy a $100 Apple gift card, get a $15 Target gift card offer late last month. If you have a credit card that's giving 5% cash back on Target purchases for the current quarter (e.g. Discover card; Chase Freedom via PayPal payment at Target.com), that is a 20% discount on iCloud... presuming you shop at Target and can use the $15 Target gift card.
I agree with that. I'm surprised that more people haven't looked into making their own local cloud storage.
Surely they got it the wrong way around, Storage should be increasing for the same price?
Also, 10GB should be free. It's shocking how much confusion the tiny 5GB threshold creates for non-tech users.
"My phone says it's not saving because I don't have enough iClouds?"
Shouldn't storage costs be decreasing yearly?

I feel like the same people that come out of the woodwork to defend it are the same ones that defended 8GB RAM as plenty right up until the day Apple finally gave in.
Food prices go up, storage prices goes down, you can argue labor price goes up and then there's inflation but in reality it's just a way for them to pad profit marginsPrices are increasing everywhere. Should we get more food when restaurants increase their prices ?
Tangible, physical, goods do not map to digital goods -- at all
It's a totally inaccurate comparison
A gmail or outlook account comes with 15GB of free storage. A free yahoo account comes with 1TB of free storage.
I am by no means saying these are the same as an iCloud account but just posting the free storage options of big tech companies.
The only thing I use iCloud for is the heath app. Its about 750MB for about 2 years of info.
I tried to use it for the Books app but it refuses to sync any book that wasnt purchased through Apple so I stopped doing that.
For Apple this has got to be the most ugly a**e page ever. https://support.apple.com/en-us/108047. Not even a table or anything just a HUGE list??
Yes, we should get more food if we’re going to pay higher prices. Chipotle is doing just that:Prices are increasing everywhere. Should we get more food when restaurants increase their prices ?

It doesn't really have to be competitive because it's the only way to back up iOS devices over the air.
Buy a NAS device like Synology, own your own Cloud with storage of any size. Pay $0/month rent to yourself.
Such a device will bring many other benefits too such as home network Time Machine, whole home DVR through apps like Channels, shared storage inside your home, etc.
