iCloud storage upgrade - can you pay annually?

Not sure how this works so thought I would post here.

The icloud storage plans, can you pay for them annually rather than monthly or when purchased is it paid in one go anyway?

From my iOS devices, it doesn't appear you can do that, with the new plans...the legacy plans are annual plans - so long as you don't change to a monthly new plan.

I was wanting to do the same thing. I use a corporate account to pay for iCloud storage, as it's a part of the job, but find it annoying to have to include a $3/month transaction. I would greatly prefer to just do it once a year for $36. Give us some options, Apple.
