I’ve been having the same issues with syncing across iCloud for many years. This is across multiple computers, iPads, and iPhones.

The Calendar app syncs very well, it’s essentially instant across devices. Shortly after I unlock my Mac computer I could open up the Calendar app and it will be updated to reflect all the entries I made on my iPhone.

The Files app is different. if I save a file to “Desktop“ on my iPhone, when I go to my Mac computer it won’t show on the desktop. It might randomly pop up an hour later. I learned a workaround for this, I read somewhere that I could right click the desktop and choose “new folder” and that will sync the desktop and my file will appear. But I shouldn’t have to manually do that each time.

The Notes app is just as bad, possibly worse. I will have to type stuff out and then delete it in order to get it to update.

Again, this is across multiple installations on multiple different computers and devices over many years, so disconnecting and reconnecting to iCloud has never helped.

Yeah, it's a problem.

For Notes, I have to play with it a bit - restart notes or switch back and forth between different notes. Usually, my wife is waiting for my shopping list updates we keep in a shared note; she often calls me up from the store asking why it's not updated.

I’ve had something similar happen. I would enter information such as customers’s addresses and various other important things into a note on my computer. I would leave and while on the road I would open the Notes app to pull that information up but it would never sync. I literally had to go all the way back home to open the Notes app on my computer again to get it to sync.

This isn’t a new thing, I don’t know why Apple could be so innovative while at the same time leaving bugs for years.

I’m having the same exact problem. And it’s amazing how bad it is. After making a bunch of Notes in my iPhone I will sit down at my Mac computer and open the Notes app. Sometimes nothing happens, but sometimes one or two notes update. But the other ones don’t. How could the synk function be so bad on the Notes app that some notes will update but other ones won’t? As the original poster said, Calendar app is always immediately updated perfectly.

This has actually become a big problem because I will enter notes in my computer and then I will leave and go into the field and find that some of them aren't updated with information I need.

The only sync "issue" I have ever found mildly inconvenient is with photos . . . I have to open Photos on my iPhone to get it to sync in a timely manner (a complicated urgency directly similar to not being able to print a document on my printer when I am in a rush to get hard-copy to a really important meeting (or *gasp* those days needing to use Windows™, when I would power-that-beast-on for something timely, only to be faced with thirty minutes of Update-finagling...)).

Other than that, everything else "iCloud-Enabled" has been spot-on 🤷‍♂️
