Holy s.... what is Apple thinking?

At least here I just encountered some major issue.

For days settings was bugging me to set up Two-Way Authentication for iCloud. So I finally did.

I got a code sent via SMS to set it up, all fine. Then after putting in the Apple ID password and another system password it asked me for the iCloud Security Code. Which apparently is not the same as the one I got via SMS.

So where is the iCloud Security Code then? I never got it sent.

Now I can't access it and it requires me to authenticate from another device and I don't have any other Apple device to do this with. WTF

Any idea?

There should be a separate pop up notification security code sent to one of your Apple devices that you are already using to log on for iCloud (iPhone, iPad, etc.) and it is that particular code that will be entered to verify and authenticate. I don't think is supposed to be the same as that first SMS code that was sent to your phone. Except for your account passwords these are usually one time use codes with a time limit on how long they can be used for authentication. If you somehow missed the first code that was sent I believe you can try to verify again using one of your Apple devices for the code to be sent to. You can call Apple support for help on this and I am sure they will provide help with how to proceed.

I only have 1 Apple device which is my MacBook Pro. No other Apple product.

Either way I was able to deactivate it and revert back, disabling it.
