Finally

I have been asking for this through apple.com/feedback for a while now. Glad it is finally happening!

Next up, fix iCloud syncing of podcasts between devices.

I'd first rather have a Chrome extension that works on Mac.

It's a funny thing that iCloud bookmarks are better supported on Windows than Mac, with support there for all the major browsers. On Mac it's just Safari? Or am I missing something?

What I *really* want is the ability to do iMessage from a browser.

I suspect there isn't a person on earth that would have a problem with this, except for Apple. It's a (minor) selling point for Mac, and a HUGE selling point for iPhone. If they release a browser version it is not unreasonable to think that someone will quickly patch something to work on Android, Windows Phone, etc. Apple isn't about providing free software to users who don't at least buy SOMETHING of theirs.

Oh yeah, I'm not holding my breath :)

I hope this is true.. hopefully they bring over the feature from Windows that lets us sync Chrome with iCloud, too!

Well, I'm not too happy with iCloud right now.

I inadvertently "synced" my Mac's Safari bookmarks about 1 year ago with iCloud and then disconnected myself from using cloud syncing entirely, except for "find my Mac." I have no iOS devices.

One year later, and with a new MacBook Pro, I turn on the new MacBook (first time), sign into my Apple account.... and here come those 1 year old bookmarks that were sitting in iCloud this whole time. Surprise!

Even with Apple tech help, we can't find out why they're still there... or how to delete them. We can't get them to be replaced either. Apple techs say we have to completely delete my iCloud account.

There should be a way to see ALL stored iCloud data (including bookmarks) and a way to purge this data.

Dropbox and a bloody simple "Photostream" button where I can watch/share my images in the cloud.

I could even live without the return of iDisk (DropBox works), but the loss of the Photo Gallery feature from MobileMe is still the single biggest gripe I have today. There isn't a decent alternative for privately sharing photo albums with non-iOS/OSX users.

That said, I'd probably even stop sulking about that if Apple ever allowed proper vanity domain support for iCloud. The way they support it now is useless for all but the most trivial scenarios.

Oii, Apple: Vanity domains! Galleries! iDisk! In that order. Thank you!

Like some have said, this isn't really a hint. It's straight out telling us what's coming.
Like others have said, this was a nice feature back with .Mac. I'd love to see it return.
But, I wonder if apple would bundle password integration with the bookmarks... That's not a feature I would want. Hopefully it wouldn't be required.

Hoping for an RSS pool in this.

It would be good to have all RSS feeds in one place and give all Apps access to the set or parts of the set. They could even go one better and push packets of RSS updates to devices.

Yes I know feedly and other host their own rss sync service but it would be great bonus to iCloud to do it and allow apps to then up-sell the service.

I'd love to be able to use this on public computers, IE, at school, at the library... even on my older Macs which can't upgrade to an OS X version new enough to have iCloud bookmark syncing.

Safari should sync whatever bookmarks are NOT there, as well those that are, surely...?

Couldn't you just copy the Safari bookmarks Library file on your new Mac to somewhere (eg. the Desktop or where ever) while iCloud sync was still on, then delete all your bookmarks in Safari. Then after a couple of hours turn off iCloud bookmark sync, then back on again to see if they'd gone and didn't reappear in Safari, then finally back off and reinstate the bookmarks copy (from the Desktop or where ever you copied it to), restarting Safari &/or you Mac accordingly?

Bit of a hassle, but should work.

...then again, why not have your bookmarks sync anyway? (especially if this 'iCloud Bookmarks in browser' function comes along making them usable inside browsers on machines you may use temporarily now and again.)

i always thought that the blank icon spot on the iCloud.com site looked like it was missing something.

We did try deleting all of the bookmarks (the 1 year old ones) and even went into the library to erase all remnants that could be on the new Mac. We then tried to sync some new bookmarks (a few generic ones). No go. Once we re-stablished the iCloud syncing, the old ones came back in their entirety. It is as if the iCloud ones took priority over the new ones on the Mac.

We even thought that I may have inadvertently used my Apple login on another machine or device. So, in an attempt to "disconnect" myself from any previous iOS devices, we changed my Apple passwords. Well, we were trying everything at this point. No go.

I really wish that there was a way to simply login to iCloud (online) and SEE THE DATA that iCloud is holding. But, this is not possible... at least with bookmarks.

I don't need syncing or iCloud. I prefer keeping things contained to my one physical machine. If I go back to another iOS device... then maybe. Until then, I'm mostly concerned that I had "data" floating in the cloud that I was unaware of.... and had no way of deleting. Neither are good.

I'd rather I get the ability to view my photostream via iCloud.com...

yeah, part of the reason I dumped apple is because they decided that after 10 years of a paid service that worked really well, they just would eliminate the one feature that I used all the time. I guess they figured that FB or G+ would take over, but really for events it was really nice to get all my pictures and then allow others to up load to my album directly though the web browser. I have yet to find anything that worked as well. That doesn't require everyone being a member of x y or z service.

As for the feature returns... they still haven't done enough to make up for everything that went missing when you moved from mobileme/.mac to icloud.

If they are on a Windows/Linux machine or a public device where they can't set up iCloud syncing, they can still access their bookmarks.

What? That's preposterous! If you can't access your bookmarks you clearly need to buy a new Apple device, like a Macbook Air or at least an iPod Touch, that you can have with you at that time to allow you access to your iCloud services.

We can't have people using iCloud from non-Apple devices. Imagine folks accessing files stored on any computer with a WebDAV client, or [gasp!] editing websites they have hosted on the service from Internet Explorer running on Windows, like they could with iTools/.Mac originally.
