I know if I upgrade to iCloud Drive then iCloud is "gone." I have my outlook contacts and calendars synced through iCloud for all of my Apple devices and even Outlook on a PC.

Will my syncing still work or do I have to do something differently? What can I expect if I "Upgrade" to iCloud Drive?

I have been hesitant to upgrade for fear my syncing will get messed up.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Syncing contacts through Outlook is not related to iCloud at all.

Refer to: https://support.office.com/en-us/ar...contacts-149cbfc5-4396-4ab3-8b65-22915e4043dc

Therefore upgrading your icloud account to icloud drive will not affect how your contacts sync with Outlook on PC.

iCloud Drive is just restructured version of iCloud, it makes it looks like other cloud services(Google Drive, Dropbox etc)

Files stored in iCloud Drive are accessible from any devices.

I am using iCloud for the syncing. I have :Contacts Calendars and Tasks checked in then iCloud control panel and I have iCloud Contacts and Calendar as my default in Outlook.
