I have a problem when I attempt to change icons.

I know the method of using "Get Info", copy, paste is standard, but recently when I hit "Get Info" for the icon I want to use it only gives me the the file type icon, such as PNG, rather than the icon that I want to use.

I know it's tough to explain so I can take a screen cap if you don't quite understand. I tried using CandyBar but even then it wouldn't give me the option to change the icons I wanted to, which are only the MS Office icons (Nothing fancy.)

Thanks for your help.

Quick bump.

Sorry about the bump.

In the attached picture, CandyBar does not offer all of my installed applications, such as MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I have since corrected the problem of icon changing with those (No idea how), but yeah, that was the problem.

Now I look like a liar.

Thanks for the reply.

I've been having the same problem too. I've been using Candybar, and I can't change any of my MS app icons. Thoughts?
