I installed Real Player yesterday, and now disks mounted from .dmg files don't display the correct icon. On the desktop, they have the icon of a file being downloaded by Safari. In the side bar of Finder windows, they have the icon of Real Player. Does anyone know how to fix this? By the way, I'm using OS 10.3.5.

That's the good old random corrupted icons bug you're experiencing. It will go away if you force-quit the Finder while a window/dialog box with bad icons is displaying. Rebuilding the Classic desktop then logging out and back in also works. However, both fixes are only temporary - the problem often recurs on its own. I have this same issue, and I just apply the workarounds every time it happens.
