icon making programs

does anyone know of programs that are available for mac to create custom icons for folders/programs.

photoshop, gimp, quark, seashore, imagewell,

You then use icon composer (/developer/applications/utilities) to make them into proper icons.

I use img2icns with files I edit in photoshop

i use fasticns. just drop a pic on it and it's simple to make file/folder icons from any image.

and GIFfun is just as easy for making animated gifs. drop any pix onto it and specify the time lag for each.

both are extremely simple and quick.

I use one called pic2icon.app to convert existing images to icons.
