icons left in status bar

Hi all, havent needed to post here in a while, which must mean my gadgets are all ok! 🙂 Im currently doing a clean out of my MBP in anticipation of upgrading the ram to 8gb and the HD to a 512gb SSD.

Heres my little problem, its not major, but its a niggly annoying thing. in the status bar beside my bluetooth and iCloud icons i have a modem icon, that appeared when i was using a usb broadband dongle. it would show the status etc, i am now not using it, but can't seem to find a way to remove the icon. any one have any ideas?! im running latest ML btw

Try holding down the command key while dragging the icon off the menu bar, then release.
