icons randomly changed!

hey all

I was just browsing the net and listening to music when I decided to delete some files off my memory stick. When I plugged it in and finished, for some reason all of my .mp4 icons were no longer video icons...they had all changed to the desktop icon! any ideas why or how to prevent that?

After a quick restart...they all went back to normal thank god.
