Trying to find out if iCracked is legit for Mail in selling of the phone?

For an AT&T iPhone 6, they are offering $300 for good condition.
Same good condition on iCracked is $370.

Are they legit? Anyone use them and have issues?

-Kevin

So I see them mentioned on major articles like Mac Observer, WSJ, USA Today......but they only mention them......no details on if they are worth it and legit.

Funny coincidence ... I never heard of this company till this morning. A work buddy told me he was going to start working for them next week part time here in Vegas. He even mentioned that their offerings were decent if I wanted to sell my 6. Not sure if this helps you at all but I figured I'd mention it.

I'm just happy to have a friend in the repair business now.

Yeah I never heard of them either until today. Problem is they do repairs....and that's what most of the reviews are for. I just get a little concerned when the payouts are that much higher!

Never heard of them for device buybacks but it looks like they have an option where they'll come to you and pay you. That should remove some doubt I guess but at the tune of 5% ($420 vs. $400 when I just looked at a 64GB Verizon 6)

I used them last year. I met with a local tech in the area. He looked over my phone, and then gave me a prepaid card, which I immediately went to the atm to pull out the money. It was a good experience.

Or, there's always swappa.com which is my favorite option. I've sold several devices there and always for quite a bit more than the mass buyers like gazelle.

Yeah and they mention something about possible Paypal fees.....not sure if you get dinged with them. I know you don't with Gazelle. If you do get Paypal fees, the local option is only slightly less.

Were you able to get all the money out without fees from the ATM?

I don't remember, but it was nice to get the money in cash, instead of waiting for a mail in service. I've already got my 64g 6 locked in for $395 this year.

Not super impressed thus far. Locked in rates for 2 phones. Get all the way through and they didn't offer to send boxes. Chatted with them and they don't send boxes anymore, even though their site says they do.

No account created, so if I wanted to cancel without waiting I have to contact them.

On the fence.....I'll give it till the 6s arrives to decide.

When you locked in the price for a local tech.....when and how do you schedule the meeting? Guessing you have anytime in your 30 days to do it?

-Kevin

Try Orchard. They have a website but make you use an iphone app as they test the phone buttons working etc through the app; it's pretty cool actually.

They are offering $461 for an iphone 6 64gb in mint condition. That's the highest trade-in I've seen; and they send you the box/shipping materials. It's a tiered payment though, wait 1 week and it's less (I think $375 or so), 2 weeks a bit more, but if you're not in a rush in 3 weeks you will have $461 by paypal or check mailed to you.

You have 30 days to meet with the tech. I met at a Starbucks and he looked at the phone for about 10 minutes and then he gave me the card. After you sign up they text you to set up the meeting.

Thanks for the info. Still deciding what to do.

Still looking for anyone who has used iCracked for mail in selling your iPhone. If so how was the experience?

-Kevin

Well, even though they claimed on chat that they don't send boxes anymore....I received an iCracked box this weekend. It was one of the larger boxes (tablet size) but had 3 phone cutouts in it. Of course the cutouts are for the older 4" screens or less ;-)

I'll probably still try them.

Well just to update. I ended up sending in both phones to iCracked. They took way longer than Gazelle, but I did finally get paid today. Their communication leaves a lot to be desired.

Yeah they were paying less for personal meeting vs mail in.

No idea about iCracked, but I sold my iPhone 6 on Swappa yesterday for $450. Was only listed for a day before it sold. Super easy.
