I agree, keeping the Macbook out of the baby's reach is probably the best way forward, but I'm sure you already practice that as best as possible. I'm using the TwelveSouth BookBook (Link), which encapsulates the Macbook like a book. Just have a look at it with the Macbook inside while open

... around the monitor the leather sleeve goes significantly beyond the Macbook's edges, so if baby falls into it, she will only touch the softer leather edges which also protect the computer.

Perhaps that's a possible solution? Also the zipper around it makes it somewhat babyproof when closed too. (Perhaps not toddlerproof though)
 
You should keep valuable electronics away from babies, children and pets.
That way your valuable electronics, babies, children and pets will likely stay unharmed longer.
