Hello:
I recently got a spare parts 13" MBA (2015), which indeed was a spare parts thing: the mounted display did not fit properly, the FaceTime camera cable was too short.
This clearly indicates that the MBA had an improperly done display replacement as one from a former MBA version was mounted.
The display itself works properly even on a later version MBA, but the FaceTime camera is not functional as the cable cannot be connected: MBAs of 2013 and later have a 14 cm cable which is mounted on the logic board, whereas version of 2012 and earlier have a 3cm cable which attaches to the I/O board.
Now, my question is: how can I determine whether my MBA had a 2010/2011 display (FaceTime camera) or a 2012 display (FaceTime HD camera)?
I'd appreciate any pointers.
Thanks,
Magnus
